Mountain Pine Ridge house torched by thief

San Ignacio police have detained a man in connection with a burglary and fire that reportedly occurred on Monday night in the Mountain Pine Ridge area. Police report that around nine-thirty on Monday night they got a tip of a suspicious grey van in the area. When police intercepted the van upon their arrival they discovered a variety of household appliances had been stacked inside. Upon investigations, police discovered that the items were stolen from a wooden structure in the Little Vagiero area of Mountain Pine Ridge. The hut, which was owned by Godwin Sutherland, was also torched. Sutherland has estimated his losses to around four thousand three hundred dollars.
