Fourth Meeting of the National Trade Negotiation Commission

The National Trade Negotiation Commission held its fourth session on Tuesday.  The meeting was co-chaired by Chief Executive Officer Amalia Mai of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.  The commission was brought up to speed on the progress made in the third round of the ongoing negotiations with Guatemala to expand the Belize-Guatemala Partial Scope Agreement.  Both countries improved their respective goods offer during that round of negotiations.  However, further engagements are needed to advance market access for agricultural products of export interest.  The meeting also focused on consultations and preparations for subsequent rounds of negotiations scheduled to take place virtually this month.  Emil Mena represented the private sector.
