Labor Department Employment Recruit Drive, 200 Job Seekers Being Sought
The Labor Department is hosting an employment recruitment drive at the ITVET Compound in Belize City from July eighteenth to the twentieth. The department is looking for two hundred job seekers to match with potential employers. Over the course of the three days, participants will be receiving training in areas such as customer service, work ethics, and code of conducts in the work place. Vernon Avila, an Employment Officer at the Labor Department gave further details during an appearance on Open Your Eyes this morning.

“The type of training that we offer at the Labor Department will be areas such as how to identify one’s skills, employment goals, customer service settings. Also, we will cover work ethics, code of conducts. And, this three days event that will take place at the IT Vet, which will be from eight thirty to four p.m. we will have stakeholders such as Social Security so people can know about their claims and deductions. Then the call centers that will be involved will be Global Com., Ready Call, and Transparent BPO. So, it is like, a wide pool of market that we want to reach out. Like you mentioned, it is two hundred job seekers. So, on the third day, we will actually certify them with a certificate, so they will have that knowledge and that mindset. So, it is for people new and existing who want to fine tune their CV.”
