Billboard #1 Singer/Song Writer Dustin Collins returns to Belize

He made Billboard’s Top Twenty-five Album Charts with his country album debut “It’s Been A While”. His single “Cold Dead Hands” also made it to number one on the Billboard’s Charts. Nashville, Tennessee country singer, songwriter Dustin Collins is in Belize. It’s not his first time in the country. He has done more than seventy shows in Belize, including his BTL Park concert back in 2018. Collins has also shot music videos in Belize. This time around, he will be touring the country to capture some of the most the beautiful sights and sounds that this side of the world has to offer. The country musician stopped by our studio today to chat with us.

“This probably one of the most personal songs I have ever written. When I finally finished it and played it for my dad, he don’t cry for nothing, he is not a crier, but watching him break down in tears after just telling my part of the story about that, I thought we have to put out the song because if I can make that old guy cry, you think that a lot of people are in the same situation I grew up in , and maybe this song can help many people explain what they feel towards their loved ones as well . The first time I came, I know a lot of people like Punta and Reggae and I like it. It’s jamming music. The first time I came down here my buddy was like, come down here and play some country music. I was like, like Jimmy Buffet songs? He said no come down here and plays your music and makes a fan base. I wasn’t sold at first and then when I got down here I said man this place is beautiful and everybody was just so nice. Sometimes you go up and play shows in the states and it is a little rowdy. People drinking and having a good time at the show, but what I notice about playing here is that people actually sit and listen to the songs and they pay attention the words. As a song writer, that grabs me hard. What I wanted to do this time was show off the entire country, from the jungle to the beaches. The beaches are great, but you can go forty miles outside the city here, going towards orange Walk and Cayo and it is one for the most beautiful places out here. I just want to take some of that and show people that this is an amazing place you should come visit.”
