Did the Media Lose an Opportunity to Appoint a Fair Representative?
According to Orozco, the media lost an opportunity to appoint someone who would uphold the value of fairness within the citizenry of the country.

“What they fail to realize is that there’s already one group of people who represent the church and that is a person from the Council of Churches. To have nominated Louis Wade, another religious representative, who has traditionally been aligned with the Coalition of Belize Churches, a known extreme group of people within our system. Separately, our issue here is that re-colonialized. We have upheld a long system of colonialism where people unwittingly or intentionally or unintentionally invited representation to continue marginalizing whole groups of people, instead of dismantling that process where we identify people constructive in their representation and uphold the value of fairness in our citizenship. An opportunity was lost by the majority of media organizations who voted him in.”
