Police Detain Man for Firing Gunshot in Faber’s Road Area
There was a second shooting incident in Belize City over the weekend and while no one was injured, police on mobile patrol did intercept someone who was running away from the area. They have since identified that person as Nigel Freeman, who, Communications Director, A.S.P Fitzroy Yearwood, said they will charge.
A.S.P. Fitzroy Yearwood, Director of Communications, Belize Police Dept.
“Police were somewhere in the Faber’s Road Extension area around Bingo King when they heard a single gunshot being fired. When they arrived in that area they saw Mr. Freeman running from where they heard the shot. A search of Mr. Freeman initially didn’t yield anything, but they found an expended nine millimeter shell not too far from him. A further search of the area revealed that a nine millimeter pistol (was found), for which Mr. Freeman had no license. I know Mr. Freeman is detained pending charges of Kept Firearm without a Gun License.”
