National Youth Band gives concert for shoppers

If you’re out shopping tonight you will be in for a treat. The Belize Arts Council presents the National Youth Band in their first ever Christmas concert. Luis Chan, Coordinator of Music at the National Arts Council told us more.

“Tonight at the corner Bishop and Albert Streets we will have a group of players that is comprised of the National Band, some of whom are young musicians. Accompanying the group we will also have seasoned members and established music brass groups like, I could say, the volunteer band.”

Q: “What can one expect if they decided to come out there tonight?”

“O.K. We will be playing Christmas carols bringing that spirit of Christmas. While you are shopping downtown you could sit, relax and listen. We will have other pieces from the band that will be playing out there. It’s a mix of music that you will be getting out there tonight, hopefully that everyone gets to enjoy the music that we will be playing out there tonight.”

The event gets underway at eight tonight.
