Brother of murdered girl beaten

In crime news, a brutal beating in Belize City has lead to the arrest of three men. Twenty-six year old Mark Gordon reported to police that about nine Monday night while he was walking on East Canal he was allegedly approached by Frederick Neal, with whom he had previously argued. A chase ensued to Marva’s Restaurant at the corner of Water Lane and East Canal where Gordon alleges that Neal took out a galvanized pipe which he used to beat him, inflicting serious injuries. On Thursday police apprehended Frederick Neal, Vincent Jones and Anthony Sutherland and charged them with attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, dangerous harm and conspiracy to commit murder. Neal and Jones have since appeared in Magistrate’s Court and are remanded in prison until their trial date of December seventeenth. Reports to News Five are that the victim, Mark Gordon is the brother of Samantha Gordon, a teenaged girl whose body was found in Ladyville last month.
