Ex-police constable involved in shooting
In crime news, Corozal police report a shooting incident involving an ex-police constable. Twenty-three year old Antonio Roberto Goff of Corozal Town told police that on Monday while in an altercation with a man he claimed owed him money, former police constable Andy Palma intervened by using vulgar words against him. About thirty minutes later while Goff was at his home he alleges that Andy Palma visited his house along with police officer Kirby Palma. At this point Goff alleges that the former police constable asked the law enforcement officer for a revolver, which he used to fire two shots at Goff which luckily missed their target. Police have arrested both men, charging Andy Palma with keeping an unlicensed firearm, use of deadly means of harm, attempted murder, discharging a firearm within town’s limits, aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit murder. In addition to conspiracy to commit murder, Kirby Palma has also been charged with common assault.
