M.O.E. Gives Adult Learning Institutions Needed Support

Louis Zabaneh

The Ministry of Education has decided that it will offer additional assistance to its Adult Continuing Education (ACE) programs across the country. While a great deal of attention has been paid to the primary, secondary, and tertiary level education, Doctor Zabaneh conceded that ACE programs, for the most part, have been neglected over the years. But, he says that is about to change because ACE will receive the financial support needed to increase enrollment at the beginning of the new school year.

Louis Zabaneh, Minister of State, Ministry of Education

“That ACE has traditionally only had about a thousand students when in fact the number of students who have dropped out of high school over the years is in the tens of thousands. So, we are saying that we have to give more resources, priority to the ACE, because the ACE directors in conversation has told us, yes we have been neglected, but people are knocking at our doors. People want to go back and get their high school degree, but they cannot afford it. We need more resources. We need more attention. So, Minister Fonseca has made that decision, so there will be additional assistance to the ACE sector when school reopens.”
