Drunk Driver Runs Over, Kills Minor in Ladyville R.T.A.
Orange Walk resident Elias Reynoso has been charged with Manslaughter by Negligence, following a fatal road traffic accident in Ladyville. Details are that Reynoso was behind the wheel of a pickup truck on Poinsetta Street around six-thirty p.m. on Friday when he knocked down and killed eight-year-old Mercedes Campos who was with her mother at the time of the accident. Police arrived on the scene to find an intoxicated Reynoso, who refused to provide any blood or urine sample to test the alcohol content in his system. He has since been slapped with a slew of traffic-related offenses.

“Police responded to a fatal traffic accident scene in Ladyville, somewhere around mile nine and Pointsetta Street where they saw the lifeless body of eighty-year-old Mercedes Campos. Also on the scene, police found a driver of a black pickup truck, highly under the influence of alcohol. This person was taken into custody; he refused to give blood or urine sample and since then, he has subsequently been charged with manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct, driving without due care and attention, failure to provide a valid driver’s license and failure to provide blood or urine specimen. I know that this person is to appear in court sometime today to be arraigned. The driver Elias Reynoso, fifty-one years of an Orange Walk address.”

“…swerved into her path. There is no way that the child could have gotten out of the way of the way of the raging vehicle. The driver was driving really recklessly.”
