P.S.U. President Says Audit Department Needs a Qualified Leader
On Tuesday, the president of the Public Service Union spoke candidly with reporters. He said that the Audit Department has never been led by someone who is aptly qualified for the job, including former Auditor General Dorothy Bradley.

“I stand to be corrected here, but I don’t know that we’ve ever had somebody with the proper certification to head that department and the former auditor general was not a certified auditor or a certified CPA, the current is not, and I don’t know that anybody within the department is a certified auditor with the requisite knowledge, experience and qualifications to head that department. The government’s excuse will be that no certified public accountant or certified auditor would want to come and work for the government for the salary that is being paid. I am pretty sure that that would be the argument. But when you have a budget that hovers in the vicinity of, I believe, two billion dollars, cost of ensuring that the Office of the Auditor General is properly staffed with the right people should not be an issue.”
