Opposition Leader Barrow Says P.M. Briceño “di sing fih ih suppa”

Moses “Shyne” Barrow

Leader of the Opposition, Moses Shyne Barrow, accused Prime Minister Briceño of playing the piper’s tune. Following P.M. Briceño’s contributions on the BISL settlement in the house, the Leader of the Opposition rose to question the prime minister’s motive behind the settlement payment. Barrow, on the other hand, agreed that the debt must be paid.

“I would just like to give the Prime Minister a round of applause for that outstanding performance. Mein, I have never seen someone sing for their supper that way. I have to take my Grammy award and give it to you. I retired, but if I was still rapping I would do a Creole rap called, if this dah nuh sing fih yo suppa. When I came into the House advocating on behalf of the Belizean people, those in Port Loyola, those on the southside who are in desperate need of employment, in desperate need of economic development, the Prime Minister accused me of singing for my supper. But, the same owners of Waterloo own B.I.S.L. And, my goodness you are weeping and  moaning and its begs the question, because I know you are business partners with the owners as well, you or your brother or your family, the Belizean people really need to see you for what you are. Mr. Speaker as far as this appropriation is concerned, I agree we must follow the rule of law and we must pay our debts. The C.C.J. has made a decision.”
