First-time Land Owners in Caribbean Shores

Kareem Musa

Of the two thousand parcels of land distributed in the Mile 8 community, Caribbean Shores constituents received seventy-five lots. Area Representative Kareem Musa says those first-time land owners from his constituents are grateful for the opportunity. He is hopeful that he can facilitate more of his voters the next time around.

Kareem Musa, Area Representative, Caribbean Shores

“We facilitated last year, seventy five of our constituents, first time land owners with a piece of land at mile eight. As you might have heard yesterday the Deputy Prime Minister speaking on the motion for a supplementary budget of two million dollars to create a road access for this community. We are very grateful for that chance for our first time land owners to get a piece of land there. And, we are hoping to get more, because that is always an issue as area representative and we are hoping that each year we can give back to our community to our community and constituents who are most deserving. All our constituents are most deserving of a piece of land.”

“How great is the need in your constituency?”

Kareem Musa, Area Representative

“Very much, and I am sure that it is the same in every single constituency across the country. Like I said, a lot of people get frustrated at times, and one could image that the work load at the lands department is a hefty one and there is a lot of backlog.”
