Nurses in Dangriga Claim Victimization; Minister Bernard to Visit S.R.H.

And on Tuesday, Minister Kevin Bernard is planning to visit the Southern Regional Hospital in Dangriga. Nurses there claim that that they are being victimized by their administrative supervisor. Minister Bernard says he will be meeting with those nurses to hear their concerns.

“I know that some of the nurses have been requesting that I pay them a visit personally. They want to speak to me on a personal level, excluding the administrative staff, because they want to be able to express openly their challenges that they are facing on a local level. Sometimes it is not all the way at the top. Many of the issues are generated at the local level. That is where we have to go in as the Ministry, now that our new directors are in place; they have to go in and assess the situation and get it fixed. And, that is what we are going to do. We are starting tomorrow in Dangriga. That is where a lot of concerns are.”
