Floralia Request Runs From Cayo to Corozal

Floralia has applied to the Ministry of Transport for its runs to be expanded. The bus company is now looking to offer its services from Placencia to Belize City and from Benque Viejo Del Carmen to Corozal. It’s a move that has reportedly caused quite a stir among bus operators already running those routes. Today, reporters asked Minister of Transport, Rodwell Ferguson about Floralia’s recent application. Here is how he responded.

“Everything I do and they request a meeting, I make myself available. So, we had a meeting on Monday and Floralia did apply for a run from Placencia to Belize City and one from the western border to the northern border and vice-versa. So, we sat down and discussed. The guy from Floralia was also in the meeting. We decided to sit down and seriously analyze the whole thing. And, we don’t know what will be the end result. But we committed to the bus operators that we are going to respect them as partners in the industry. It is time for country to go to another level, but we need to sit-down and have serious dialogue so that everybody will be on board and understand each other.”
