Courts winner receives check

The latest winner in the Courts Belize Serious Cash draw received his check this morning at Courts main office in Belize City. Jason Henry a resident of Ladyville and an employee of Belize Brewing Company Limited says he put thirty tickets in the barrel after purchasing a sofa set in August but never really thought he had a chance to win the ten thousand dollars.

“Well, I didn’t really expect to win. It’s the first time I ever won anything and I felt very happy when I found out it was true. I plan to put all of it in the bank and I plan to continue shopping at Courts as well.”

Anna Marie Bennett, Courts Advertising and Promotions Executive tells News Five that after a fifteen percent tax by the government, Jason Henry will take home about eight thousand five hundred dollars. This is the fifth Courts Serious Cash Two Draw for 1998. The remaining draws will be for twenty thousand dollars on December fifth and fifty thousand dollars at the end of December. In all, one hundred thousand dollars will be won by lucky Courts customers this year.
