Land Services at Department of Lands to Drastically Improve
Two hundred employees from the Ministry of Natural Resources are currently learning the software. When the new system does come online in the next few weeks, it is expected that the issues of backlog that prevent services from being completed in a timely manner, will be resolved.
Nelda Tulcey, Chief Executive Officer, Ministry of Natural Resources
“Basically it entails permission to survey, transfer of lease, purchasing of national land. Those are processes we can use Landfolio to streamline those processes so that those can be done in a much faster manner than what it is being done currently.”
Paul Lopez
“And that would be how this would improve services for Belizeans, correct?”
Nelda Tulcey
“Yes, definitely cause most of the time you will hear the public saying that their instruments have been in different cues and it has been stuck in their for weeks, or months, or in some cases for years. So, we want to improve on the services we offer here particularly to the public and Belizeans generally to be able to provide that service at a faster pace and a more accurate and reliable manner.”
