Dr. Peggy Antrobus, U.W.I. Guest Lecturer

“But I really want to talk a bit about the kind of contribution, the various contributions made by women, have meant to U.W.I. itself. The changes at U.C.B., changes in terms of the way they teach, the kind of research they do, and the kind of outreach that the university is engaged in.

This is the fiftieth anniversary of the University of the West Indies. I am one of those people, I didn’t go to the University of the West Indies, but I think U.W.I. has a special role to play in Caribbean development and I felt very honored to be invited. I was in Jamaica for the special convocation ceremonies and came away with a very wonderful feeling about this institution that is so important to the region.”

The special guest for tomorrow’s lecture at the Holy Redeemer Parish Hall will be Minister of Human Development, Women and Youth Dolores Balderamos Garcia. The lecture begins at seven p.m.
