Grandmother arrested for marijuana
A report out of the north reveals that one of our modern grannies may be involved in activities other than baby sitting and crocheting doilies. Seventy-seven year old Saturnina Gamboa of Santa Martha Village was on Wednesday arrested and charged with drug trafficking. This is the result of an anti drug and firearms operation carried out by Orange Walk police and the Dragon Unit where Gamboa was found reportedly hiding a bucket in some bushes. It allegedly contained approximately ten pounds of suspected cannabis. Ten other people were charged with drug related offenses in this incident. Also in Santa Martha, a search at the home of Claudio Herrera by authorities led to the discovery of one sixteen gauge shotgun with one accompanying cartridge. Herrera and another suspect George Smith were arrested and charged for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
