Belizean Companies Now Able to Export Agricultural Products to Mexico Tax-free
When Mexican President, Andrés Manuel López Obrador visited Belize in May, it opened the way for greater trade relations to occur between our two countries. Soon after Obrador returned to Mexico, he signed a document that allows for Belizean agricultural producers to export their products to Mexico tax-free. Ambassador Arnold shared that that has piqued the interest of quite a few Belizean companies.
Oscar Arnold, Belize’s Ambassador to Mexico
“We’ve seen quite a few companies trying to take advantage of that. We’ve had meetings set up with some of the buyers with some of the vendors here in Mexico City, so we’re hoping that in the very near future we will have some of those products penetrating the Mexican market more than what we had before.”
