St Mary’s Students Settling in at Samuel Haynes Institute of Learning

Students of Saint Mary’s Primary School, who from the start of the school year have had to travel over to Mahogany Street to have classes in the Samuel Haynes Institute of Learning, have reportedly settled into their new learning environment. News Five caught up with the General Manager of Anglican School, Doctor Jeremy Cayetano who gave us an update on how classes are going.

“From what we are seeing, students are adapting to the space. We’re grateful, I need to say that, to the Ministry of Education because they are providing bus transportation from St Mary’s School, currently to Samuel Haynes and back. So they have made it much easier for us to do the transition. Infant one through to standard one, right now they are in the church but we are expecting the buildings anytime now. One of the wooden buildings for classroom is ready, and the office. We are awaiting a permit from the Central Building Authority to transport them, that’s all. We believe that by the end of two years our students will be safely back at the St Mary’s compound. We are working closely with the Ministry of Education, putting in our application to SIF. Hopefully that goes through and we’ll be able to rebuild the classroom sections of the building.”
