Pomona Villager Murdered in Cold Blood, Killer Turns Himself in to Police
One man is in police custody following a murder on Saturday morning in Pomona Village. Twenty-nine-year-old Kevin Williams and his girlfriend were heading home from a night out when Williams was attacked. He was stabbed three times. He reportedly died in the arms of his girlfriend, while the alleged killer fled the scene. That suspect has since been detained. News Five’s Paul Lopez has the story.

Twenty-nine-year-old Kevin Williams was stabbed to death on Saturday morning in Pomona Village. Williams and his girlfriend were on their way home from a night out in the village when he was ambushed along the way. William’s father, Richard Herrera, spoke with News Five.

“What he was doing, that day dah mih ih pay day. So he and ih young lady decide fih gone to the store cross the village. So ih gone fih buy grocery. A lot of people say they saw hime buy the grocery. People say they hear the young lady tell him why he nuh buy the revel rum right yah then wih guh straight home. But no, he wah buy the rum back more about quarter mile more weh ih could get it fifty cents cheaper.”
According to Herrera, Williams and his girlfriend were almost home when the suspect approached them and immediately began attacking him.

“I could tell yo exactly what ih seh. Ih seh exactly, as ih come out the bush and approach ah, ih seh, now talk *beep* sick, now talk *beep*sick now and right deh ih start to punch. The young lady weh mih the deh, mih think dah punch ih the punch ah, but dah nuh punch. Ih mih the stab ah up. She mih think dah punch. Ih drop pan the ground and ih start to shake up. All the while she think dah knock out ih mih knock out, but dah nuh knock out. Ih the dead.”
The construction worker reportedly received three stab wounds, one to the stomach and two to the chest, injuries which would prove to be fatal. According to Herrera, the suspect is a well-known resident of Pomona. Today, police informed reporters that the alleged killer handed himself in on Monday.

“Kevin Williams was in the company of a female when they were walking and approached by Doratian Salam, a forty-three year old security guard who jumped off his motorcycle and immediately attacked Williams. I know that Monday Salam handed himself into Dangriga Police in the company of his attorney Mr. Selgado. At this time I know that police are following ups several leads. They have recorded several statements and we should be levying charges sometime son. We are waiting for the advice of the D.P.P. For us to go out and say there were threats, the established that as yet.”
