Belize/U.K. military training exercise starts
A joint Belize/United Kingdom military exercise code named “Caribbean Fury” has begun. According to a government press release, the month-long exercise will involve close to five hundred Royal Marines and B.D.F. soldiers in intensive jungle warfare training and live firing exercises in the Mountain Pine Ridge and Chiquibul Forest Reserve. The exercise will also involve the deployment of Lynx helicopters from the British Army Training Support Unit BATSUB, as well as ships from the Royal Navy including its newest and biggest carrier, the H.M.S. Ocean, which is in the Caribbean as part of her tropical weather trial. One hundred members of the Royal Netherlands Marines will also accompany their British counterparts on the training exercise which ends on November eighth.
