Corozal family robbed at gunpoint

A Corozal money changer and his family have been robbed of over eight thousand dollars in cash and jewelry. Thirty-one year old Raul Magaña told police that around seven thirty Thursday morning he was accosted as he was leaving his home in Louisville village by a masked man with a pump action shotgun. Magaña was ordered inside where he was beaten with the gun and robbed of over six thousand five hundred dollars. At the same time another masked man approached Magaña’s vehicle which was parked outside and occupied by his common law wife Reina Patt and two other passengers. Reina was relieved of jewelry valued at eighteen hundred dollars. After a further search of the house the two robbers and a third accomplice fled in Magaña’s vehicle, which was later found abandoned on a cane feeder road outside of Louisville.
