Shooting suspect detained by police

Story Picture
In a follow up to a story in yesterday’s newscast, it turns out that at the very moment we were reporting that Denvor Willoughby was yet to turn himself in, he was in fact languishing behind bars on Queen Street. Police picked up the twenty-two year old, who was wanted for questioning in connection with the shooting of another youth which took place a week ago. When he left our studios after lunch, Willoughby told us he was on his way to present himself to the police, but he was apparently apprehended before he ever reached the station. Twenty year old Kimbran Mossiah was injured in the attack last Thursday night, when someone opened fire on a group of young men who were hanging out at the corner of Jane Usher and Central American Boulevards. Mossiah was shot in the knee and abdomen. It is not clear whether police intend to charge Willoughby or release him after questioning. He has appealed to witnesses who were present during the shooting to come forward and clear his name.
