Suspected burglar shot dead by homeowner
While the victim of Thursday night’s shooting recovers from his injuries in the hospital, another man who found himself on the wrong end of a gun was not so lucky. Twenty two year old Anthony Watson Junior was shot dead around one thirty this morning, apparently as he was attempting to burglarize a Belize City residence. According to police, thirty-two year old businessman Dennis Chow reported to them that he heard a noise on his verandah. When he went to investigate Chow said he came face to face with Watson. Chow told police that when Watson reached behind his back as if he was reaching for a weapon Chow pulled out his licensed nine millimeter pistol and fired the fatal shot. Chow has been charged with the crime of manslaughter.
