Gunman sought in holiday shooting
A quiet late night hangout on Central American Boulevard erupted in pandemonium on Thursday and when the dust had settled, a Belize City youth lay on the pavement with gunshot wounds. According to police, twenty year old Kimbran Mossiah was the only one of four people who were sitting down at the corner of Jane Usher and Central American Boulevard who was hurt when someone burst unto the scene from the direction of the Port Authority and opened fire with a gun. Two of the assailant’s eight shots found their target in Mossiah’s abdomen and right knee. He is hospitalized in stable condition at Karl Heusner Memorial. Police have identified the shooter, whom they are still looking for, as Denvor Willoughby. Willoughby is no stranger to violence as he was out on bail for another shooting earlier this year, in which Griffith Green was injured on Vernon Street. If and when he is captured, Willoughby will have four additional counts of attempted murder added to his previous charge.
