Bz-American band releases new album

Story Picture
A year ago we first brought you their story, a group of energetic young Belizeans who are out to burn their names into the music industry circuit both at home and abroad. Twelve months after the release of their first album, “Midnight Run,” the Wood Dwellas are back. With fourteen new songs added to their repertoire, the Los Angeles based group is in Belize to promote the new album, scheduled for release at the end of October. When they stopped by our studios to give News Five’s Patrick Jones a peek at their latest work, the trio said that apart from joining in the celebrations, they’re excited about their latest effort which carries a single theme.

Quinn

“The message is basically, each song has a message and when you put it together, it’s like a puzzle, teaching you about the struggles in life and how to handle them and how to uplift yourself, right. But I think it’s going to be like fourteen songs on it, right.”

Indio

“”Celebratin” da wa celebrating song. Da basically fu the tenth and all celebrations weh we di have and then just basically all a wi people coming together as one. That’s the whole message behind “Celebratin,” right.”

Quinn

“And we try to do it especially for celebrating time right here, right, so that’s why we’re trying to bring it out.”

Q: “How does it fit into not only the tenth but the twenty first?”

Quinn

“Well, because every time everybody have to celebrate, right. It’s not just for a specific song just for the tenth or twenty first, we’re basically talking about celebrating life, but we wanted to bring it out at the same time when all the celebrating di go on here.”

Q: “What’s the format of the music used for “Celebratin”?”

Moses

“For that song, we all have different styles. So what we like to do is mix those styles up to come up with a unique sound, although it does have like a lot of dance on it. Reggae influence to our music, I think, like I said we all do different things. So this one here has a real positive vibe to it. Real uplifting, really nice vibe, really nice vibe.”

While in Belize, the Wood Dwellas will be performing an opening act for groups like Xtatic and the Punta Rebels.
