Gunman snatches woman’s purse, robs another

In crime news, Belize City police are on the lookout for “G.I. Joe,” a man wanted in connection with the armed hold up of two women in separate incidents overnight. According to police, the first robbery took place around eleven o’clock Thursday night on Central American Boulevard. Twenty seven year old Elena Pfeiffer says she and her sister were walking on the Boulevard near the Belcan Bridge when a man grabbed her purse. Pfeiffer told police that after a brief scuffle the man, identified as Cecil Gill, pulled out a handgun and proceeded to take away her purse. Two hours later, Gill was apparently on the move again. Twenty-one year old Dawn Billary reported being held up as she walked on Vernon Street. Billary told police that after her attacker brandished a gun, he proceeded to rob her of fifty dollars. According to C.I.B., the similarities of both incidents make Gill a likely suspect in both robberies and are looking for him.
