M.O.U Calls for U.B Aviation Day
The M.O.U also calls for collaboration between U.B and the ministry that will afford the national university an opportunity to focus on civil aviation projects. This is an aspect of the agreement that will see the institution take part in new and innovative projects, as President of U.B, Doctor Vincent Palacio and Minister of Education, Francis Fonseca expressed enthusiasm over.
Dr. Vincent Palacio, President, U.B.
“Through this M.O.U, both U.B and the Ministry of Blue Economy and Civil Aviation will cooperate wherever possible in their collective efforts and resources to share knowledge, expertise, data and information to strengthen the common interest and respective missions of the institution. Some of the activities we will jointly execute include, and I’ll list a few because we’re ready: conferences and research in our natural areas of interest. Conferences is a natural way of sharing knowledge from researchers and from people in the industry to come in to interact with our students. We want to develop a blue economy research centre; that is novel. That is something that I think will set us apart from the region.”
Francis Fonseca, Minister of Education
“It is critically important for our ministries to engage with our national university of Belize. This is our university, this is our national university of Belize. So it’s critically important for our objectives, our strategies, our work that we do in government to be aligned with the goals and objectives of our national university, so critically important.”
