Ladyville man dead in hit and run
A twenty-three year old Belizean mechanic has been arrested after knocking down and killing a man from Ladyville. According to police, Shem Hower was driving a Ford Bronco from Sand Hill to Belize City at three, Saturday morning and as he reached mile nine and three quarters on the Northern Highway, he lost control of the vehicle and crashed head on into thirty-five year old Victor Foreman who was riding his bicycle. Police say after Hower knocked down the bicyclist, he continued on his journey. But as Hower sped away, he left his calling card behind. Police found several pieces of debris from the vehicle, that later led them to Hower’s residence in the city, where they promptly arrested him. Hower was charged with causing death by careless conduct, driving a motor vehicle without due care and attention, failure to report an accident and failure to render aid.
