Belizean American Businessman Gone Missing, Family Worried
A missing person bulletin has been issued for a Belizean American businessman who has not been seen or heard from since Tuesday afternoon. Sixty-six-year-old Owen Tucker Senior was last seen in Biscayne, when he left his recently purchased property, formerly known as Croc Land. Work has been underway at the property, located about two miles off the Philip Goldson Highway, in anticipation of the grand opening on January twenty-fifth, 2023 of the Washing Tree Eco-Park and Resort. But Tucker, who cares for his elderly mother, cannot be found and both his phones are off. Today, News Five’s Duane Moody spoke with relatives and friends of the missing man.

Relatives and friends of Owen Tucker Senior are concerned about his safety after the sixty-six-year-old businessman has not been seen or heard from for two days. It is not like him, says his son, who is currently deployed in Japan.

“It’s very concerning the circumstances; he just hasn’t been heard of. He and I talk almost every day via phone – either text or phone call – his calls have been going straight to voice mail for the past forty-eight hours or so.”
Kameale Terry, Niece of Missing Man
“I also talk to my uncle often, almost every day. He posts all the time on Facebook, he always has his phone on. So just reiterating what Owen said that it is just very concerning.”
“He is normally very responsive every time I reach out to him. He is very active on Facebook. He would typically post anywhere from a few to ten to twenty Facebook posts every day and I haven’t seen anything from him over the past forty-eight hours or so.”
Tucker Senior’s last post was on Monday where he said, “Discipline and Consistency. These are the two character traits that define the outstanding performers. Hire accordingly.” But it was Bernadine Reid, a close friend and employee of Tucker Senior, who sounded the alarm. She has since been able to confirm that Tucker was last seen by his employees at the property around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. He left, saying that he had a meeting. Since then he has not returned home to care for his eighty-eight-year-old mother, nor has he been in contact with any relatives or friends.
Bernadine Reid, Employee of Missing Man
“I tried to call him on Tuesday. 12:30 I didn’t get him; one o’clock he didn’t answer so I went by his house and I blew [the horn], but nobody came out. I know the lady that takes care of his mom wasn’t there cause the door was closed so I picked up Mister Ramclam and we came up here. When we came, Mister Ruben was not here, except for the Mennonites who were working, so I took Mister Ramclam around and explained to him what I needed him to get done for me and stuff. That evening went I didn’t hear from him. I started getting worried. Miss Lily, the lady that works at the house says that when she got there at nine in the morning, he was not there; he had already left. I know that he went to the gym, cause he normally goes to the gym at seven. He walks with two phones – his U.S. phone that his WhatsApp is on and his Belize phone. He always has on his U.S. phone because he lets you know that that’s the way his company gets in touch with him that’s in the U.S. So for going on three days now and he is still not answering none of those phones makes you wonder now what went wrong. As far as I am concerned, he came up, he paid Mister Ruben. And Mister Ruben says he left. That was on Tuesday afternoon and since then we have not seen or heard from him.”
Who he had an appointment with and where is also unknown at this time, but it’s going on the third night since he is not at home and this is not like him. Reid says that they don’t want to think that he has been the victim of a crime, but that maybe he did not take his medication. And so, they are planning to search the area for him.
“I don’t want to think the negative part, but you and I know that after one day, you can think anything. It is never a positive outcome at the end of the day. And I am asking and I am begging, on behalf of the family – his son is coming in tomorrow; his entire family lives in the U.S. We have been back and forth, we have called the hospitals, you name it. We have done that throughout yesterday. The police have been there with us. We start searching; tomorrow we are putting together a team because this is two hundred and twenty acres, he could be anywhere on this premises. So tomorrow morning we are putting together a team and we’ll be up here at seven o’clock and anybody that wants to help us to search please come because he also has a heart issue. And we were just told that the medication was found in the refridge, so anything can happen.”
