Is Audrey Matura Considering a Political Career?
In the months ahead, founder of MAT, Audrey Matura says that she will be touring the country to meet with community and village leaders in an effort to ensure that the peoples’ movement grows and develop teeth. But is this the semblance of a political career for Matura? Here’s how she responds.
Audrey Matura, Founder, Moving Ahead Together
“I know people ask if we will become a political party. And the answer will be maybe yes, maybe no; I can’t tell the future. I believe you can’t just form a political party. The monsters that we have to fight are too big. I believe what we have to do first is create a movement, educate people because democracy only works if we have an enlightened set of people – keep the topics at the forefront. Right now, I think we will be more like an opposition more than anything because that set is a mess, but the government can’t run rush hour over all of us. So it will be the movement first. If we have people who spill over from here into a political party or join any of the major parties it will be good for us because then we have people of like mind going in, infiltrating other things. But that’s too soon to say.”

“Is that something you are considering though?”
Audrey Matura
“I would consider it honestly. In the past I have been asked and I said no. But I pray over these things and if it is to be, it will be. It’s not like “Oh, this is my ambition.”
