Couple Busted with Firearm Remanded to Jail

A man and his common-law-wife were today remanded to the Belize Central Prison on gun-related charges. Twenty-four-year-old Charles August and thirty-year-old Eloise Baldarez of Antelope Street, Belize City, pleaded not guilty to possession of a firearm and six live rounds of ammunitions.

In court, they were each read one count of kept firearm without a gun license and one count of kept ammunition without being granted a gun license. Allegations are that on Wednesday, the pair had a black pistol point twenty-two revolver along with six live rounds of ammunition. Due to the nature of the offenses, they were denied bail and were remanded into custody until January, 2023.
