A.R.E.B.B. and B.N.A.R. Becomes One Association
For some time there have been two associations representing real estate brokers in Belize. The Association of Real Estate Brokers of Belize (A.R.E.B.B.) and the Belize National Association of Real Estate (B.N.A.R.) will become one association. The members of both organizations agreed that the associations should have one voice since their missions align. As a result, both associations have taken first steps to become one real estate association in Belize. On Wednesday, A.R.E.B.B. and B.N.A.R. signed a Memorandum of Understanding which sets out the responsibilities of each committee within the associations in carrying out a successful transition into one formal and democratic body. Here is more from that signing.
Hugo Moguel, President, A.R.E.B.B.
“It is a big step in our industry. It shows an evolution in our industry. It shows that the industry or real estate business has matured to that step of seeing the value of having a united voice. We have seen how important this industry has been to the entire country, especially during hard times, what we experienced during COVID. So, on the tail wings of that it think that the number of professionals that have risen all across this country has been recognized by government and the public sector and has been more importantly recognized among ourselves, each other. So, this MOU laid the ground work for us coming together as one association.”
Carlo Habet, President, B.N.A.R.
“Now that we are one we are very happy to pursue a number of issues that have been on the backburner for quite some time but have been in development, stuff that we have both been working on but we are now working together to make it the best it can be. We are looking at things like passing of the Real Estate Bill. We are here now with the EDC for that reason. They have been so great to facilitate this. They are behind it and a result for higher standards for all our professionals in the industry. We are also looking at an MLS. It is something our friend over at ARBB has been working very hard. WE are also looking very seriously and soon to offering classes for those who want to get into the industry and those who want to continue their education and continue raising their level.”
Narda Garcia, C.E.O., Office of the Prime Minister
“The economic development council and the office of the Prime Minister is here to assist you in any way we have been talking about the real estate bill and now it’s even more in the forefront that you are working together on it. That and any other initiatives that you may have. I think it’s very important for the business sector, for economic activity and for. All other reasons we need to ensure from the Office of the Prime Minister’s standpoint and from the economic development council that we support you in every other initiative that you may have.”
