Tourist dies in hotel room
Three days after a senior church group from New York arrived in Belize for a one week vacation, one of its members has died of natural causes in his hotel. According to the police, the body of seventy-seven year old George Owen Dalrymple, who was staying at the Fiesta Inn, was discovered by a friend. Sixty four year old Josiah Scott reported to police that he had gone to room one-twenty-seven, around eight Tuesday morning looking for Dalrymple when he found him lying dead in his bed. Scott said the last time he saw his colleague alive was at eleven on Monday night. The police say they do not suspect foul play and have been able to ascertain that the victim was on medication that was prescribed in the United States and prior to his death he was complaining about a cold. A postmortem examination conducted this morning revealed that Dalrymple, who had only one lung, died as a result of internal bleeding caused by lung failure. It is expected that following some paper work by the U.S embassy, Dalrymple’s body will be flown back to the United States. According to Reverend Doctor Leslie Anderson, President of the Belize/Honduras District of the Methodist Church, Dalrymple and his group from Newman Memorial Methodist Church in Brooklyn, had just donated a VCR, books and pencils to Wesley Middle School. The group is scheduled to depart from the country on Saturday.
