B.E.L and Ministry of Energy Have Good Working Relationship, Says Minister

As it relates to the country’s main electricity provider, the Belize Electricity Limited and Minister Chebat’s Ministry of Energy, he said that contrary to some reports, or beliefs, the relationship between the ministry and the company is good.

“I think we have an excellent relationship with B.E.L. As a matter of fact, C.E.O. Mencias and I speak almost on a daily basis – so quite the contrary. We have an incredible relationship. As a matter of fact, there are many issues that are affecting the energy sector, on which we discuss almost on a daily basis, so there are no daggers drawn between us.”
