No one charged for Brandon Jones’ murder

Also in the west, Belmopan police have still not filed any charges against anyone for the murder of Roaring Creek resident, Brandon Jones. Jones had gone to a house not far from where he lived in the village, reportedly to settle a score over an old beef. But that did not go as planned and he left the house barely alive and had to be rushed for treatment at the Western Regional Hospital. He succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in Belize City. But Jones’ roommate is distressed that his friend’s life was taken so easily. He told us off-camera that he is disappointed that the Belmopan Police still have not charged anyone in connection with the incident.

I neva really want gone show my face deh cause if I mi gone I mussy probably mi wah retaliate and thing. So I just keep my corner but I mi expect di police dehn fi look into it or something like dat but di police dehn come deh like several times fi di night and dehn noh ker nobody. Everybody just remain deh and party afta weh happen and up to now dehn noh pick up nobody fi dat yet. My lee bwai gone just like dat. People di seh dah over wah lee young gial but nothing noh really goh so.”

“Yoh hear all kinda bawling, screaming. Some lee females weh mi deh deh and di dogs deh mi di mek wah lotta noise. I really would ah want di police dehn look into it because dat can’t go just like dat cause if dah mi we do something like dat dehn mi wah come fi we right away. Dat dah weh I noh like.”

“And these people have all gone now? They’ve moved out?”

News Five understands that the file will be forwarded shortly to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for instructions. It also reported that the alleged perpetrator has claimed that he acted in self defense.
