Police Seek to Bring Charges for Gang Involvement Against Ronlee Petillo

Ronlee Petillo

In court earlier today, Petillo was brought up on charges stemming from an incident that reportedly took place on the morning of December ninth, during which he is said to sexually assaulted a woman inside her vehicle after asking her for a ride home.  A little over two weeks later, Petillo allegedly assaulted another woman with a firearm.  On December twenty-seventh, Petillo purportedly drew a pistol and pointed it in the direction of a twenty-three-year-old woman, threatening her life.  She was able to escape him by running behind a yard and jumping a nearby fence.  Petillo, who was out on bail for murder, is a known street figure with ties to the George Street Gang.  ComPol Williams says that for charges to be brought against Petillo for gang involvement, strong evidence needs to be presented in court.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

“As you would know that this investigation is very tedious and it is not that we can go to the court and say we know he is.  We need to have evidence to indicate to the court that he is, and so the GI3 intel and investigation team will be working extremely hard to try and put together the pieces to be able to demonstrate to the court that Petillo and his close associates are members of the George Street Gang so that when we do charge him, the charges would be able to stick.  In the meantime, we certainly will, through the DPP’s office, oppose to any bail being given to Petillo at this time, or even in the future.  He has demonstrated that when he is out, he continues to be a tyrant in society and I don’t think that the city which is trying its best to hold on to peace, needs a character like Petillo at this time.”

“In the case of Kyle Latchman, sir, his family is, they still reported him missing.  Is there an ongoing search for him, although they think you believe that he is in hiding because of Mr. Petillo?”

Chester Williams

“Yes, we are in search of him.  We do want to find him to find out what may have transpired between him and his own friends, because you would know that Kyle Latchman and Ronlee Petillo are friends.  And so, to find him and get the information we need, certainly will help the investigation going forward.”
