“There have been called for the surviving victims to be given witness protection and I know that has always been a challenge here. What can be offered?”

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

“We certainly, and I discussed just prior coming here with the minister, we are in dialogue with Trinidad for an exchange witness protection program. So, it is something we can throw out to the family, if they would be willing to relocate to another area. It doesn’t have to be Trinidad. We also talk to the U.S. Embassy to see if they can provide something for us. But, we will do whatever is necessary to ensure the safety of the surviving victims.”

ComPol Williams also confirmed that the murder of Michael Williams on Thursday December twenty-ninth is connected to the New Year’s Eve murder. Police believes that the same shooter carried out both acts.
