A Call for a New Investigation into Fareed Ahmad Murder

Saldivar noted that there is the need for a new investigation to be launched into Nah’s alleged involvement in Fareed Ahmad’s murder. He contends that any attempt to prosecute Elmer Nah on the evidence contained in the existing file would prove futile.

“There has to be a new investigation, a new file. And, why would that be important? Remember this, when the Michelle Brown came in court and Mr. Nah was made to speak, he said his uncle was the one who would have been able to guarantee his whereabouts. Who was the uncle and what was his position at that time? His uncle being Marco Vidal was the head of the unit that he belonged to, the same unit that Michelle Brown belongs to. He had been at that time a man of great influence, second only to the commissioner at that time in the police department. So, the Belizean public would not be fooled into believing that there is any transparency in the file that was produced for Michelle Brown, hence the reason why Michelle Brown could not be convicted on that file. And certainly, there would have been no attention paid to Elmer Nah from that file. So, before we even go to looking at that file I will tell you right away, prosecuting Elmer Nah on that file would be a futile effort.”
