An Update on Hurricane Lisa Recovery

Speaking of improving NEMO’s response, Minister Orlando Habet says that an assessment indicates that there was up to two hundred and fifty million dollars in damages caused by Hurricane Lisa. Today, he gave an update about recovering from this disaster.

“It’s over two hundred and fifty million dollars that the initial assessment came up with. But what I can report on is that there is a new needs assessment being done with the assistance of UNDP and so they are bringing in some professionals in the field who are doing, still taking the same report that has been done by DANA, but they will be strengthening it by doing some more research and trying to come up with a more substantive figure that certainly encompasses not only the physical damage, but social and other effects.”
