Dorothy Bradley Officially Sworn In as Acting Auditor-General

In 2020, when she held the post of Auditor-General, her office released reports suggesting that there was embezzlement happening between 2015 and 2016 at the National Sports Council. And since September first, 2022, she has been working in the same capacity, but the official swearing-in of Dorothy Bradley as the Acting Auditor-General for the next two years took place today in Belmopan. Governor-General, Dame Froyla Tzalam did the honours. Bradley’s appointment was passed in the House of Representatives and the Senate last August. Today, we spoke with her to find out what her agenda looks like, but she said she’s actually trying to catch up on audits that have been pending.

“These are mostly compliance audits for the savings bank, we had for some town boards, for the Human Development, we also had for the Benevolent Fund, I think, for the B.D.F., so those we are bringing to a close. And then I’m looking also at the Strategic Plan that is currently in place for this fiscal period to see how best we can move that forward. And then I’m also looking forward to meeting with the Public Accounts Committee, hoping to address those audits that still on the table with them, and hopefully we can address any pending matters in that regard.”
