Safiyyah knows where to look for love this valentine

You just had glimpses of this morning’s super live Valentine concert on Open Your Eyes… but there are much more activities throughout the country this weekend to celebrate love… Saffiyah has a full list of how you can spend this weekend with your special someone.

Hey guys, I’m Safiyyah and this is What’s Happening Belize? For Valentines Day weekend! As expected there is a lot going on this weekend all over the country. Let’s start with tonight.

Tonight St. Michael’s High will be having their Share D Luv Dance. This big bash will be held on the St Michaels College campus starting at seven p.m. The Dignitariz will be doing their thing all night long. Tickets are only five dollars in advance and seven dollars at the door. So all you high school students can check that out tonight.

Also tonight the Black Orchid Resort in Burrell Boom will be having a Special Valentine’s Day evening featuring Nelita Castillo and Dane Henry on keyboard. It will all begin at six-thirty and there will be special prices on drinks.

Now for tomorrow, Valentines Day, there is plenty for you and your loved ones to do; starting with the Natius Fair, held in San Ignacio. The Saint Ignatius High School is inviting everyone out west to their grand fair, beginning at ten a.m. on Saturday. This Fair will be held at the Macal River Park and will have mechanical rides, games, raffles as well as food and drinks. There will also be a big dance following the fair beginning at nine p.m.

Also on Saturday you can take your family out to see the “Boom to the City” canoe race. The race will begin in Burrell Boom and will end at the Wet Lizard, where they will be having a post race party. If you are interested in participating in the race call 223-5505 or 621-0846.

Another place you can head this Saturday is over to S.C.A.’s campus to their annual Valentines Fair. The fun will begin at four p.m. and there will be plenty of games and activities for people of all ages. So you and your family or just you and your loved one should definitely check it out. Make sure when you’re at the fair your visit Cupid’s Love Shop as well.

Up North in Orange Walk, Muffles College will be having a valentine’s fair this Saturday. Their fair begins at four p.m. and will continue on through the night. There will be balloons and clowns for children as well as all sorts a games including a dunking booths, pony rides, candy land and fish pond, to mention a few. And of course, a hype dance will follow the fair.

For all the adults, you are invited to the B.N.T.U’.s Good Valentine event being held inside the Bellevue Lounge. This event will begin at eight p.m. and will feature the New Creation Band. There will be food and drinks on sale. Tickets are ten dollars in advance and fifteen dollars at the door. For more info you can call 223-4811.

And I just have to mention the big concert happening this Saturday night. Beres Hammond will be performing live at the Princess poolside. He will be performing all the songs you all know and love as well as hits from his new album, A Moment in Time.

Also over the weekend you guys can look out for Las Chicas Roland, a dancing and singing group from Honduras, who will be traveling all over the country. Tonight they will be in Mango Creek at El Estado, tomorrow night at La Cancha in San Pedro and Sunday night in Lamanai Inn in Orange Walk. General Entrance is thirty dollars.
