Consumer Prices Up 6.7% in December 2022
Across the country, consumers experienced an inflation rate of six point seven percent on the cost of goods and services in December 2022. That is according to the All-items Consumer Price Index which summarizes price levels for all categories of consumer goods and services. Inflation was mostly felt in the category of food and non-alcoholic beverages which accounted for more than one-half of the national inflation rate for the month, as food prices continued to rise at an accelerated rate. On the other hand, prices for goods and services within the category of information and communication fell by three point two percent in December, primarily the result of lower prices for internet provision services.
