Esquivel goes to St. Lucia for regional meeting
When he left the witness stand shortly before midday, the Prime Minister was off to the International Airport, headed for Castries, St. Lucia. There Esquivel will join other regional leaders for the nineteenth CARICOM Heads of Government Conference which opens on Tuesday. The week long meeting, which coincides with the Caribbean Community’s twenty fifth anniversary, will focus on various amendments to the Treaty of Chaguaramas aimed at bringing the region closer to a single market and economy. Special guest of the regional heads for their summit, which ends on Saturday, will be South African President Nelson Mandela.
