Traffic accidents kill two, injure three
Two people lost their lives in separate traffic accidents over the weekend. On Friday night police say they found the body of Windel Middleton in a ditch just off Constitution Drive in Belmopan. According to the police, Middleton was in control of a car that was being towed, when another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction, crashed into him. Both vehicles were extensively damaged and Middleton is reported to have died on the spot. The second incident happened early Sunday morning on the Northern Highway. Twenty four year old Frank Dawson told police that he and three other people were driving northwards, when upon reaching between miles fifty four and fifty five, a parked vehicle suddenly drove unto the road in front of him, resulting in a deadly head-on collision. Eighteen year old Melissa Sutherland, who was seated on the passenger side of the jeep, received severe head injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Orange Walk Hospital. The driver Frank Dawson, suffered facial injuries and a broken leg. Passengers seated in the back of the vehicle, Delone Pascacio suffered a broken pelvis while Ernesto Jones sustained a broken leg. The driver of the other vehicle, thirty three year old Vincent Crawford of Orange Walk Town was hospitalized with only facial injuries. Police investigations of both incidents are continuing.
