Belize City resident, Charles Brown was unrepresented in court for his trial but managed to convince the court that he was innocent of the charge. According to the report made against him, the girl, was at home in September 2017 with her aunt, who is a special needs person, when a man dressed in a white T-shirt and white pants entered her home as a trespasser and forced her to have sexual intercourse with him. Police escorted the victim to the police station where a social worker was called in to speak with her. Based on her report, police leveled the charge against Brown. Justice Ricardo O’Neil Sandcroft concluded that the victim was not a credible witness and so he was forced to acquit Brown of the offense.
