Weekend Stabbing Leaves Belize City Businessman Injured
A thirty-four-year-old businessman was viciously attacked by a pair of robbers over the weekend in Belize City. Deepak Cataria was accosted by the men who restrained him and proceeded to stab him multiple times to the upper body, before relieving him of several items. According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero, one suspect has been detained and another was to be arrested and charged by day’s end.

“On Saturday, January 28th, 2023, police responded to a stabbing robbery report at Euphrates Avenue. Upon their arrival, the came upon one Deepak Cataria, thirty-four-year-old businessman, who reported that he was doing a business transaction when he was approached by two male persons, one who held him, and the other proceeded to inflict stab wounds to his chest area. Quick police response led to the detention of one person who had a bag. When it was searched it contained the stolen items that belonged to Deepak Cataria. Thereafter, one other person was detained and the investigation is ongoing. At the end of the day, we’ll have charges for these persons.”
